“as the tree changes”

What genre do you write in and why?
Poetry. I have always had a hard time communicating, but poetry allows you to express your feelings in a way that might be hard for some people by using metaphors and things that people can relate to.

Who or what inspires you to write?
My writing started as a way to try and express my feelings. It then morphed into a healing journey for me, which is mostly what my poetry book is about. Now I write to capture the small joys in life. The beauty in nature.

Who is your favorite author? Do you have a favorite book and/or poem?
My favorite poet is Mary Oliver. My favorite poem of hers is called “don’t hesitate”

Can you tell us a bit about your writing process?
At any point during the day, if I am struck with something (like a sunset or an unexplainable feeling), I will jot it down in a notebook. Later when I have had time to really think about it, I will construct the poem.

I also spend time in nature, reflecting on what all I see.

What's a fun fact about you?
I have an active imagination. I tend to feel things deeply, even the small, inconvenient moments, and I have a habit of turning them into little stories or poems in my head.
